Free training & workshop @Ohrid Refrigeration Conference

Meet the SuperSmart team at the upcoming 7th Conference on Ammonia and CO2 Refrigeration Technology, held in Ohrid, Macedonia, from 11 to 13 May 2017. On 11 May, the team will moreover welcome you to a free 2 hrs workshop, presenting an overview of activities so far, and of topics available for free training on how to build and maintain energy-efficient food retail stores. The workshop will also highlight current efforts to define new criteria for a future EU Ecolabel on Food Retail Stores, asking for active feedback from the audience.

SuperSmart Training & Workshop on energy-efficient food retail stores @7th NH3 and CO2 Refrigeration Technologies Conference - 11 March, Ohrid, Macedonia

SuperSmart has published 7 free reports about how to make Europe’s food retail stores more efficient. The reports provide concrete recommendations on how to map and reduce non-technological barriers, how to build new stores and refurbish existing ones, and how to select the right tools and methods to maintain high levels of energy-efficient operation. Based on our varied expertise, the team has developed a series of training modules that will be shortly presented to the audience during the event.

3rd part - Workshop: Draft criteria and compliance verification for food retail stores for the EU Ecolabel

  • Introduction to criteria development within SuperSmart
  • Background to criteria development (EU Ecolabel, national ecolabels, legislation and standards, life cycle analysis)
  • Presentation and quick feedback round on a set of new criteria for energy consumption of food retail stores and important aspects of sustainable buildings, including waste, water consumption & wastewater management, labelled products, staff training, display cabinets
  • Discussion on HVAC&R and building criteria, including overall energy efficiency of buildings
